The India–Lebanon corridor connects India with a Mediterranean nation that has long hosted Indian professionals in hospitality, healthcare, construction and engineering, as well as the staff of humanitarian organisations based in Beirut. The corridor handles household relocations and business moves alike, routed through the Suez Canal to the eastern Mediterranean. It rewards a partner who manages the Indian export side and Lebanese clearance as one process.

A move to Lebanon begins at the India end. Export clearance is filed through ICEGATE, the shipping bill prepared under the Customs Act, the AD code registered with the originating port, and the household or office packed for a sea transit through the Suez Canal. The Lebanese end is administered by Lebanese Customs (the Higher Council of Customs); returning residents and qualifying new arrivals may import used personal and household effects with relief, subject to the import declaration being lodged correctly and the documentation matching the residence status.

The India–Lebanon corridor

Sea freight is the backbone of this route for household and commercial volumes. Container vessels from Nhava Sheva (JNPT), Mundra and Chennai serve the Port of Beirut — Lebanon’s principal seaport — on services through the Suez Canal, often via a transhipment hub in the Gulf or eastern Mediterranean, with overall transit times typically in the range of 18 to 30 days depending on connections. Tripoli’s port to the north provides an additional gateway. From the discharge port, onward road delivery reaches Beirut and the rest of the country.

Air freight from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Chennai (MAA) into Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) serves moves on a tighter timeline. Direct and one-stop services place a shipment in Lebanon quickly, and air suits smaller, urgent consignments. The cost premium over sea is substantial, and we help you balance speed against budget for the volume you are moving.

Indian export clearance

Shipping bill filed on ICEGATE, AD code registration, FEMA-aware documentation and customs clearance managed at Nhava Sheva, Mundra or Chennai — so the shipment leaves India correctly.

Lebanon customs regime

Clearance through Lebanese Customs at the Port of Beirut, relief on used personal and household effects confirmed against your residence status, and documentation prepared in advance.

Sea and air options

Sea via the Port of Beirut or Tripoli for household and commercial volumes (18 to 30 days); air via Beirut–Rafic Hariri International for urgent or smaller shipments.

One coordinator, both ends

The same person manages your India packing survey, ICEGATE shipping bill, dispatch and Lebanese delivery — no handover gaps between origin and destination.

Who moves on this corridor

This single corridor serves the full range of moves. Household relocations bring healthcare, hospitality, construction and engineering staff and the staff of humanitarian organisations and their families settling in Beirut. Business and office moves cover Indian companies establishing a Lebanese presence, relocating staff and equipment. Commercial freight covers trade goods, project cargo and exhibition material between the two markets.

Where we deliver in Lebanon

We move regularly to Lebanon’s major cities and their surrounding areas: Beirut, the capital and the destination for most relocations; Tripoli in the north; Sidon (Saida) and Tyre (Sour) on the southern coast; Jounie and the Keserwan coast north of Beirut; and Zahle in the Bekaa Valley. If your destination lies outside these centres, ask us — we deliver across the whole country.

How your move works

  1. India-side survey. We assess volume and contents at your home or office in India — in person in major cities or by video — and return a clear quote with sea and air options and realistic Beirut arrival windows.
  2. Export documentation. Indian export paperwork is prepared: shipping bill filed through ICEGATE, AD code confirmed, packing list, invoice and any FEMA-related declarations relevant to your move.
  3. Pack and dispatch. Our crew packs to export standard from your India origin, and the shipment is booked and dispatched on the confirmed route to the Port of Beirut or the airport.
  4. Clear and deliver in Lebanon. We manage Lebanese Customs clearance, advise on relief for used effects, and coordinate onward road delivery to your address.
