Export clearance in India begins with the shipping bill filed on ICEGATE, AD code registration with the loading port and export-standard packing. Sea freight departs from Nhava Sheva (JNPT), Mundra, Chennai or Cochin and is routed to San Antonio or Valparaíso — Chile’s principal container gateways serving the Santiago region — usually via transhipment in East Asia or at a Pacific hub, with start-to-finish transit typically 35 to 50 days. The northern port of Iquique and southern Talcahuano serve their own regions. Customs clearance is handled by the Servicio Nacional de Aduanas, which administers import duty, IVA value-added tax and the conditions under which used household goods (menaje de casa) may qualify for transfer-of-residence relief.

Air freight from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Chennai (MAA) reaches Chile through Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL) in Santiago, routed via a European, Gulf or São Paulo hub. Air suits urgent or compact consignments; given the distance the cost premium over sea is significant and we explain it honestly.

3. Pack and dispatch. Our crew packs to export standard from your India origin, and the shipment is booked and dispatched to San Antonio or Valparaíso, or by air to Santiago.
4. Clear and deliver in Chile. We manage import clearance with the Servicio Nacional de Aduanas, advise on menaje de casa relief, and coordinate onward road delivery to your address.
