The India–Germany move starts with the India end: export customs clearance through ICEGATE at Nhava Sheva (JNPT), Mundra, Chennai Port or Cochin, preparation of the shipping bill under the Customs Act, AD code registration with the originating port and the careful packing of a household or office that will travel close to 7,500 nautical miles before it arrives. That preparation is as important as anything that happens at the German end — and it is where most coordination gaps occur when the India side is handled carelessly. Once the container reaches Hamburg or Bremerhaven, the German side begins: ATLAS electronic clearance with Zoll (German customs), the 19% Mehrwertsteuer (MwSt) import VAT question, and the Übersiedlungsgut transfer-of-residence relief that, when correctly claimed on Form 0350, removes duty and VAT on used personal effects owned for twelve months or more.

The India–Germany corridor

From Hamburg, onward road delivery reaches Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and every address in Germany — subject to Sonntagsfahrverbot (the Sunday HGV ban) and the Umweltzonen low-emission zones that govern access to German city centres.

Air freight from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Chennai (MAA) into Frankfurt (FRA) or Munich (MUC) serves moves where the timeline cannot accommodate sea transit. Direct services on Lufthansa and Air India put a shipment on the ground in Germany in 8 to 9 flying hours, with consolidated belly-hold and dedicated freighter options handled by Lufthansa Cargo from FRA. 2. Export documentation. Indian export paperwork is prepared: shipping bill filed through ICEGATE, AD code confirmed, packing list, invoice and any FEMA-related declarations relevant to your move. We do not leave this to the last week.
3. Pack and dispatch. Our crew packs to export standard from your India origin, and the shipment is booked and dispatched on the confirmed route to Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Frankfurt or Munich.
4. Clear and deliver in Germany. We manage Zoll ATLAS import clearance, advise on Übersiedlungsgut Form 0350 relief, and coordinate onward road delivery to your address in Germany.
