What we move

Most days are household shifts, but the crew and vehicles flex to the job in front of them. Across India we handle:

• Office and commercial relocation — workstations, server and IT kit, files and furniture, planned around a weekend or after-hours window so business loses the least time.

1. Free pre-move survey

   A surveyor visits your home, or walks through it by video, to measure the volume, count the heavy and fragile pieces, and check the access at both ends — floor, lift size, staircase, lane width and parking. That is what turns a guess into a written, all-inclusive quote with the right vehicle and crew behind it.

2. Packing day

   The crew packs in graded material — bubble wrap and corrugated sheets for fragiles, cartons for the rest, blankets and stretch wrap on furniture — and dismantles beds, wardrobes and modular units, labelling each carton against a room.

3. Loading and the move

   With the gate-pass cleared and the lift booked, the load goes down in order, is padded into the vehicle and secured for the road — a short city shift or a long intercity leg. Your coordinator confirms the dispatch and arrival window.

4. Unpack and reassemble

   At the new home the crew carries up, unpacks, puts the beds and wardrobes back together, places the heavy furniture where you want it, and clears the empty cartons and wrapping on the same visit — so you are not living among a fortnight of debris.

How to choose packers and movers in India

The market runs from established firms with their own crews to single-tempo operators booked through an aggregator, and the price you are first quoted tells you very little. A few honest checks separate a move that goes to plan from one that turns into an argument on the day.

Insist on a surveyed, written, all-inclusive quote

The single most useful thing you can do is refuse a price given over the phone without a survey. A genuine quote follows a survey of your goods and access, and itemises packing, labour, vehicle, floor and lift charges, insurance and GST in writing. If a mover names a flat figure before seeing the job, that figure is a placeholder — and placeholders grow on moving day.

Check GST registration and ask for a proper invoice

A registered mover gives you a GST invoice, which is both a tax record and a sign you are dealing with a real business rather than a number that stops answering after the advance. Ask for the GSTIN up front, and confirm the GST is shown as a line on the quote rather than added quietly at the end.

Confirm transit insurance and how a claim works

For any intercity move, transit insurance priced on the declared value of your goods is worth having. Ask whether it is offered, what it covers, and what the claims route looks like if something is damaged in transit — a clear answer here is a good test of how a mover handles the rare bad day.

Avoid the common hidden-charge and day-labour traps

Two patterns cause most of the complaints in this trade. The first is the moving-day add-on — an extra for the staircase, the wrapping or a second man that was never in the quote. The second is the crew hired casually at the gate that morning, with no training on lift padding or furniture dismantling. Ask directly whether the quote is all-inclusive and whether the crew is the mover’s own; the answers tell you a great deal before a single carton is packed.

What affects the cost of a move

There is no honest flat price for a house shift, because no two homes measure the same, and we will not quote a number before we have seen the job. What the quote is built from:

• Home size and volume — a 1RK, 1BHK, 2BHK, 3BHK or 4BHK each carry a different load, and it is the volume, not just the bedroom count, that drives the vehicle and the crew.
• Distance and route — a local shift prices very differently from an intercity haul, and a long route adds days, fuel and tighter crating.
• Floor and lift availability — a flat with a working service lift is quicker and cheaper to clear than an upper-floor walk-up that needs a long manual carry.
• Packing material grade — full bubble-and-carton packing on a fragile-heavy home costs more than a lighter pack, and we price what your goods actually need.
• Dedicated versus shared vehicle — a dedicated truck is faster and is yours alone; a shared load is cheaper but waits while the truck consolidates other consignments.
• Transit insurance and GST — insurance priced on the declared value, GST charged correctly and shown on the invoice, never buried in the total.
