1. Free pre-move survey

   A surveyor visits your home, or walks through it on video, to measure the volume, count the heavy and fragile pieces, and check the access at both ends — floor, lift size, staircase, lane width and where the tempo can stand. That is what turns a guess into a written, all-inclusive quote with the right vehicle behind it.

2. Packing day

   The crew packs in graded material — bubble wrap and corrugated sheets for fragiles, cartons for the rest, blankets and stretch wrap on furniture — and dismantles beds, wardrobes and modular units. In the monsoon weeks, everything that matters gets a waterproof outer layer before it leaves the flat.

3. Loading and the move

   With the association gate-pass cleared and the service lift booked, the load goes down in order, padded into the vehicle and secured for the road — a short city hop or a longer intercity leg. Your coordinator confirms the dispatch and the arrival window.

4. Unpack and reassemble

   At the new home the crew carries up, unpacks, puts the beds and wardrobes back together, places the heavy furniture where you want it, and clears the empty cartons and wrapping on the same visit — so you are not living among a fortnight of debris.

OMR IT-corridor relocations

A large slice of our Chennai work runs along Old Mahabalipuram Road, where Tidel Park, the SIPCOT campuses at Siruseri and the towers through Thoraipakkam, Perungudi and Sholinganallur keep people moving in and out as jobs and projects shift. These are mostly gated communities with their own access rules, visitor logging and lift bookings, and the road itself can crawl at peak. We plan the slot around the corridor’s traffic and the tower’s rules rather than against them, so the crew is loading while the lift is yours and not stuck at a barrier.

The North-East monsoon and flood-aware scheduling

From October to December the North-East monsoon is a planning input in Chennai, not a surprise, and in the low-lying pockets — Velachery, Pallikaranai, Mudichur and similar ground — standing water is a real risk on the worst days. We waterproof the packing, an outer wrap on cartons and furniture with extra care on anything electronic or upholstered, and where the forecast turns severe for a flood-prone address we will suggest moving the slot by a day rather than carrying your belongings through a flooded lane. A date is easier to reschedule than a soaked mattress.

Apartment association NOC and service lifts

Most apartment societies in Chennai will not let a packing crew or a loaded tempo in or out without a gate-pass for the day, and many ask for a no-objection note from the association and take a refundable deposit against lift or common-area damage. A tower move also lives on the service lift — released for a booked slot, sometimes only within fixed hours, often required padded. We build this in early: tell us your association’s rules at the survey, and your coordinator helps line up the paperwork and books the lift slot, so the crew is not turned back at the gate on the day.

Independent houses and lane access

Plenty of Chennai addresses are independent houses rather than tower flats — in Mylapore, parts of Adyar, the older streets of T Nagar and across the western and southern suburbs — and there the question is the lane and the staircase, not the lift. Some lanes will not take a 17-footer to the door. We size the vehicle to the access, arrange parking where the street needs it, and crew the job for the manual carry so the staircase leg is handled properly rather than rushed.

The summer heat

From April to June Chennai is genuinely hot, and a long packing day in that heat is hard on a crew and on anything heat-sensitive. We start early where we can, keep candles, certain electronics and sensitive items out of a baking vehicle, and pace the loading so the work stays safe and the goods are not cooked in a metal box on the road.

Intercity moves from Chennai

A good share of our intercity work runs out of Chennai, and we are straight about transit times because that is where most disappointment comes from. The bands depend on volume, the vehicle and whether you take a dedicated truck or a shared load.

• Chennai to Bengaluru — the most common route, roughly a six-hour road leg, usually a same-day or next-day delivery on a dedicated vehicle, longer on a shared load while the truck consolidates other consignments.
• Chennai to Hyderabad — typically one to two days door to door on a dedicated load, a little longer on a shared one.
• Chennai to Coimbatore — a within-Tamil-Nadu leg, often delivered inside a day or the next on a dedicated vehicle.
• Chennai to Mumbai — a long westward haul, generally two to three days depending on the vehicle and the route.
• Chennai to Kochi — down the coast into Kerala, usually one to two days on a dedicated load.
• Chennai to Madurai or Pune — Madurai a short state leg of a day or so; Pune a longer two-to-three-day run alongside the Mumbai pattern.

• Distance — a local shift within the city prices very differently from an intercity haul to Bengaluru or Hyderabad.
• Floor and lift availability — a flat with a working service lift is quicker and cheaper to clear than a third-floor walk-up or an independent house that needs a long manual carry.
• Packing material grade — full bubble-and-carton packing on a fragile-heavy home costs more than a lighter pack, and we price what your goods actually need.
• Transit insurance and GST — insurance priced on the declared value, GST charged correctly and shown on the invoice, never buried.
