The DRC’s principal seaport is Matadi on the Congo River, with the deep-water port at Banana being developed on the Atlantic; the port of Boma also handles traffic. From the coast, freight moves inland by road to Kinshasa and beyond. Air freight departs Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Chennai (MAA) and connects through a Gulf or European hub into N’djili International Airport (FIH) in Kinshasa, with Lubumbashi (FBM) serving the mining south. Import clearance runs through the Direction Générale des Douanes et Accises (DGDA). The DRC allows relief on used personal effects for incoming residents, and we confirm the documentary requirements — including work-permit evidence — before your shipment sails.
