Egypt lies on the direct India–Suez route, so container connections are frequent and a realistic port-to-port transit runs in the region of 14 to 24 days depending on service and whether the destination is a Red Sea or Mediterranean port.

Egypt’s principal seaports include Alexandria and the adjacent El Dekheila on the Mediterranean, Port Said and the East Port Said terminal, Damietta, and Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea within the Suez Canal economic zone. Air freight departs Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Chennai (MAA) and connects, often via a Gulf hub, into Cairo International Airport (CAI). Import clearance is handled by the Egyptian Customs Authority, increasingly through the Nafeza single-window and ACI advance-cargo-information system. Egypt allows relief on used personal effects for incoming residents, and we confirm the documentary requirements — including residency or work-permit evidence and ACID registration — before your shipment sails.
