Export clearance is filed through ICEGATE, the shipping bill prepared under the Customs Act, the AD code registered with the originating port, and the household or office packed for a long sea transit followed by overland carriage into the Balkans. The Kosovan end is administered by Kosovo Customs (Dogana e Kosovës); new residents may import used household goods on a transfer-of-residence basis with relief from duty, subject to documentation matching the residence permit and a correctly lodged declaration.

Because Kosovo has no coastline, household and commercial volumes move by sea to a regional European port and then overland. Container vessels from Nhava Sheva (JNPT), Mundra and Chennai sail to a Mediterranean or Adriatic gateway — commonly Durrës in Albania, Thessaloniki in Greece, or an Italian port — with onward road carriage to Pristina; overall transit times are typically in the range of 25 to 40 days depending on routing and the inland leg. Air freight from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL) or Bengaluru (BLR) reaches Pristina International Airport (PRN) via a European connection, since there is no direct service from India. Air suits smaller, urgent consignments where the multimodal sea route is too slow for the schedule. The cost premium is significant, and we present it clearly against the sea-and-road alternative.
