Almost everything arrives by sea into a single main port, sailings are less frequent than on mainland routes, and onward distribution to the outer islands adds another leg. The India–Seychelles corridor

Sea freight handles household and commercial volumes. Containers leave Nhava Sheva (JNPT), Mundra, Chennai or Cochin with the shipping bill filed on ICEGATE and the AD code registered at the originating port. The destination is Port Victoria on Mahé, the country’s only commercial seaport. Direct sailings are limited, so many shipments transhipment through Colombo or a Gulf hub before the final leg to Victoria; combined transit typically runs 18 to 32 days depending on routing and connection times.

Air freight from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Chennai (MAA) routes to Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on Mahé, generally via a Gulf hub. Air is well suited to smaller or urgent shipments where a job start cannot wait for a sea connection. Import clearance is handled by the Seychelles Revenue Commission; returning residents and qualifying new arrivals may claim relief on used personal and household effects owned before the move, supported by the customs declaration and evidence of relocation.
