The destination is Honiara on Guadalcanal, the country’s main port. There are no direct sailings, so shipments transhipment through a Southeast Asian hub such as Singapore or Port Klang, and often connect again through a Pacific feeder service; combined transit commonly runs 35 to 55 days depending on routing and connection times.

Air freight from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Chennai (MAA) routes to Honiara International Airport (HIR), via a Southeast Asian or Australian hub, with limited capacity. Air suits only small, urgent consignments. Import clearance is handled by the Solomon Islands Customs and Excise Division; returning residents and qualifying new arrivals may apply for relief on used personal and household effects, supported by the customs declaration and evidence of relocation.
