The India end begins with the shipping bill filed on ICEGATE under the Customs Act, AD code registration at the originating port, and export-standard packing. Sea freight departs Nhava Sheva (JNPT), Mundra, Chennai or Cochin and routes via a major transhipment hub — typically Singapore or a North Asian port — onto a Pacific feeder service to Majuro, the principal port, with Ebeye on Kwajalein Atoll also served. Because of the multi-leg routing and feeder frequency, realistic transit is long, commonly 45 to 70 days. Air freight from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Chennai (MAA) routes via an Asian or US Pacific hub into Marshall Islands International Airport (MAJ) at Majuro.

At the Marshallese end, clearance is handled by the Marshall Islands customs authority through the Ministry of Finance. Returning nationals and qualifying residents may claim relief on used personal and household effects under transfer-of-residence provisions, subject to ownership and documentation conditions; commercial cargo attracts standard import duty. We confirm the duty position before dispatch and plan the feeder connection so the shipment is not left waiting between legs.
