The answers are yes to both, with specific conditions. Both require planning that starts at the India end, and both become significantly harder when left until the final weeks before the move. Relocating your pet from India to Czechia

As an EU member state, the Czech Republic applies the EU pet movement rules under Regulation (EU) 576/2013. For animals travelling from India — a non-EU, non-listed third country for rabies purposes — the entry requirements are detailed and the sequence is fixed. The animal must first be implanted with an ISO 11784/11785-compliant microchip. The rabies vaccination must follow the microchip implantation; any vaccination given before the chip is invalid for EU entry. A rabies antibody titration blood test must then be carried out at an EU-approved laboratory at least 30 days after the vaccination, and it must demonstrate an antibody level of at least 0.5 IU/ml. A waiting period of three months must elapse from the date the blood sample was taken before the animal can enter the EU. None of these steps can be reordered or compressed.

Once those steps are complete, an EU animal health certificate must be issued by an official veterinary authority in India within ten days of the travel date. The certificate is pre-notified to the destination authorities through the EU’s electronic system, and the animal must enter the EU through a designated traveller’s point of entry, where documentation and identity are checked. For pets moving to the Czech Republic, this is commonly Prague (PRG) for a direct routing, or another EU traveller’s point of entry with an onward leg into Czechia. On arrival, Czech rules on the keeping of animals and, for dogs, local registration and any breed-related requirements then apply at the place of residence.

India adds its own export requirements. The Animal Quarantine and Certification Service (AQCS) issues the Indian export health certificate; a No Objection Certificate from the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau may be required for certain species and for any CITES-listed animal. The pet must be examined by an authorised veterinary officer and its microchip details verified before the Indian certificate is issued. Shipping a vehicle from India to Czechia

Because the vehicle originates outside the EU, the central step is an individual vehicle approval — a technical assessment of whether the Indian-specification car meets EU and Czech construction and roadworthiness standards, carried out through the authorised technical inspection station (STK) and the type-approval authority. It examines lighting, emissions, brakes, glazing, mirrors and structural items, and modifications are often required before approval is granted.

On the customs side, transfer-of-residence relief is the principal route to avoid the EU import duty and the 21% Czech VAT (DPH) that otherwise apply to a vehicle imported from outside the EU. The relief is available where the vehicle has been owned and used at the India address for a qualifying period before the move, the owner is genuinely transferring residence to Czechia, and the vehicle is retained for a set period after import. Once individual approval is obtained, the vehicle is registered at the local vehicle registration office, the registration documents and Czech plates are issued, and the vehicle becomes subject to Czech requirements such as compulsory third-party insurance and the motorway toll vignette for use on the charged road network.
