The India–Saint Lucia corridor connects India with one of the eastern Caribbean’s most prominent islands. Saint Lucia draws Indian families through its Citizenship by Investment programme and its standing as a tourism and offshore-services destination; others move for hospitality careers, professional roles or to join family on the island. The move crosses two oceans, and that long journey is best handled by a single team that plans it from start to finish.

Saint Lucia is a single volcanic island in the Lesser Antilles with no direct deep-sea link to India. Containers cross the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic and transship through a larger Caribbean hub before a feeder vessel reaches the island. Seemleius plans the full chain from the start, so the India-side export clearance is finished early and transit expectations are realistic from day one.

Freight routes and customs

The India end begins with export clearance: a shipping bill filed on ICEGATE, AD code registration with the originating port and an export-standard packing list and invoice. Sea freight departs from Nhava Sheva (JNPT), Mundra, Chennai or Cochin. With no direct service to the island, containers route via a major transhipment hub — commonly Kingston in Jamaica, Caucedo in the Dominican Republic or another regional port — before a feeder completes the journey, with overall transit commonly in the range of 35 to 50 days depending on connections.

Saint Lucia’s principal cargo gateway is Port Castries, with Port Vieux Fort serving the south of the island. Air freight moves from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Chennai (MAA) into Hewanorra International Airport at Vieux Fort, always via connecting hubs in Europe, North America or the Caribbean. Customs clearance is handled by the Saint Lucia Customs and Excise Department. Returning nationals and qualifying residents may import used household effects under concession provisions, and we confirm eligibility and documentation before the shipment leaves India.

One coordinator

The same coordinator manages your India survey, export paperwork, ocean and feeder legs, and island delivery — no handover gaps across the corridor.

Who moves on this corridor

This single corridor serves the full range of moves from India to Saint Lucia. Households and families relocate under the Citizenship by Investment programme, for hospitality and professional roles, or to join relatives on the island. Businesses and offices ship equipment, records and furnishings for ventures in tourism, real estate and offshore services. Commercial freight — trade samples, furnishings, retail stock and project cargo — moves on the same transhipment routings, consolidated as a part-container load where volumes are modest.

Where we deliver in Saint Lucia

We deliver across the whole island: Castries, the capital and commercial centre in the north; Gros Islet and the Rodney Bay area; Vieux Fort in the south; Soufrière on the west coast near the Pitons; and the communities of Micoud and Dennery on the eastern side. Saint Lucia’s compact size means inland delivery from Port Castries or Vieux Fort is straightforward once the shipment has cleared. If your destination is not listed, ask us — we deliver island-wide.

How your move works

  1. India-side survey. We assess volume and contents at your home or office in India, in person or by video, and return a clear quote with sea and air options and a realistic island arrival window.
  2. Export documentation. Indian export paperwork is prepared early: shipping bill on ICEGATE, AD code confirmed, packing list and invoice — never left to the final week.
  3. Pack and dispatch. Our crew packs to export standard at your India origin, and the shipment is booked and dispatched on the confirmed transhipment route.
  4. Clear and deliver in Saint Lucia. We manage Customs and Excise clearance, advise on used-goods concessions and coordinate onward delivery to your address on the island.
