Transfer-of-residence relief on personal effects

Most people arriving from the UAE qualify for the EU transfer-of-residence relief, which exempts used personal belongings and household goods from import duty and the 23% Polish VAT. The principle is consistent across the EU: the goods must have been owned and used by you for at least six months before the move, you must be transferring your normal place of residence into Poland, and the application is made to Polish customs with evidence of the move and the shipment inventory.
