Sea freight from Jebel Ali to the Port of Laem Chabang — Thailand’s main deep-water port serving the Bangkok region — typically runs around three to four weeks, and is the cost-effective choice for full household volumes. Air freight from DXB into Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok is the faster option, often clearing within one to two weeks, and suits urgent or higher-value consignments. Customs is administered by the Thai Customs Department. Arriving residents may import used household goods and personal effects with relief from import duty and VAT where the goods are demonstrably owned and used, the move coincides with taking up residence, and a non-immigrant visa or work permit supports the claim. We prepare that documentation before the shipment departs.
