Part of International Relocation

Fine Art & Antiques

Fine art, antiques and high-value pieces relocated with bespoke crating, controlled handling and careful documentation.

Fine art and antiques cannot be moved on a standard schedule with standard materials. A painting, a sculpture, an heirloom piece of furniture — each has its own fragility, its own value, and often its own insurance and provenance considerations. Seemleius fine art and antiques relocation is a specialist service built around that: bespoke crating, controlled handling and documentation that respects what these pieces are worth.

It is part of our international relocation service for clients whose shipment includes items that simply cannot be treated as ordinary cargo.

What is included

Bespoke crating

Custom crates and mounts built to the dimensions and fragility of each piece.

Controlled handling

Trained handlers and careful methods for pieces that cannot tolerate ordinary movement.

Condition & documentation

Condition recorded before transit, with documentation suited to high-value and provenance-sensitive items.

Discreet, tracked transit

Shipment planned for protection and discretion, tracked from start to finish by your coordinator.

How it works

  1. Assess the pieces. We review each item’s dimensions, fragility, value and any insurance or provenance requirements.
  2. Build the protection. Bespoke crating and mounts are prepared so each piece travels in something made for it.
  3. Handle and ship. Trained handlers pack and load, condition is documented, and the shipment moves on a planned, tracked route.
  4. Deliver and confirm. Pieces are delivered and unpacked carefully, with condition reviewed on arrival.

Why trust Seemleius with fine art and antiques

With high-value pieces, there is no acceptable margin for the casual approach. Our service exists precisely because these items need crating built for them, handlers trained for them, and documentation that takes their value seriously. Condition records before and after transit mean there is never ambiguity about how a piece travelled.

Every fine art move is scoped individually — there is no standard quote, because there is no standard piece. Tell us what you need moved and we will scope it with the care it deserves.

How do I get a quote for this service?

Use the step-by-step quote form — it takes about a minute — or call us directly. Every quote is free, itemised and with no obligation.

Is my shipment insured?

Transit insurance is available on every service. Your coordinator will explain the cover options when quoting so you can choose what suits the shipment.

How far ahead should I book?

Two to four weeks is comfortable for most jobs, but we regularly handle urgent work. The sooner you reach out, the more flexibility you have on dates.

Do you handle the paperwork and customs?

Yes — where a service involves customs or documentation, we prepare and submit it on your behalf and keep you updated at each stage.

Will I have one point of contact?

Always. A dedicated coordinator owns your job from first quote to completion — no call centre, no being passed around.
