The customs process is modern and well organised, but it rewards accurate documentation — an inventory and declaration that match the shipment clear smoothly, and discrepancies do not.

Freight routes and customs

Sea freight departs Jebel Ali for the Port of Busan, the country’s principal container gateway, or Incheon for the Seoul region, with transit typically running four to six weeks. From the port, onward road delivery reaches Seoul, the capital region and the industrial cities. Air freight from DXB into Incheon International Airport is roughly an eight to nine hour direct flight and clears door to door within one to two weeks, ideal when the timeline is pressing.

Customs is administered by the Korea Customs Service. Arriving residents can generally claim duty relief on used household goods and personal effects under transfer-of-residence provisions, provided the items have been owned and used before the move and the declaration is supported by a detailed inventory, passport and visa or residence evidence. We prepare and verify everything in advance so the shipment is presented correctly at the Korean border.
