This multi-leg routing means transit times that combine the sea leg with an overland leg, usually several weeks in total, so it suits full-household volumes. Air freight from DXB into Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, generally via a regional hub, is the faster option for smaller or time-sensitive shipments.

The Lao Customs Department administers the country’s import rules. New residents may import used personal effects and household goods, and relief from import duty is generally available for genuine used goods owned before the move, provided the inventory and the residence or work documentation are in order. We prepare the detailed packing list and supporting paperwork in advance so the shipment clears as a transfer of residence.
