Sea freight departs Jebel Ali and routes via a transhipment hub — often a major Caribbean port such as Kingston in Jamaica or Caucedo in the Dominican Republic — before a regional feeder service brings containers into Port Castries, the island’s main commercial port, or Vieux Fort in the south. Door-to-door transit for full-container volumes generally runs 35 to 55 days. Air freight leaves DXB and connects through a North American or Caribbean hub into Hewanorra International Airport at Vieux Fort.
Customs is administered by the Saint Lucia Customs and Excise Department. Returning nationals and qualifying new residents may claim relief on used household effects, subject to proof of prior ownership and residency intent. A detailed valued inventory, passport and immigration or citizenship documentation are required. We prepare the customs file in advance so clearance at Castries proceeds cleanly.
