Nauru is the smallest republic in the world — a single raised-coral island in the central Pacific — and one of the most remote relocation destinations anywhere. Moves from the UAE are rare and specialised: professionals on government, infrastructure or regional programmes, and people joining family on the island. Every such move depends entirely on careful, patient logistics.
There is no direct freight service of any kind between the UAE and Nauru, so this corridor is built completely on transhipment. Nauru is reached through Pacific shipping networks, and shipments must connect onto the infrequent feeder services that call at the island. Seemleius plans the entire chain from a single point of contact in the UAE, with timelines set realistically from the outset.
Freight routes and Nauruan customs
Sea freight leaves Jebel Ali and transships through a major Asian or Australasian hub before connecting onto the Pacific feeder services that call at the port at Aiwo, Nauru’s only harbour, where cargo is handled at the island’s mooring and berth facilities. Total transit is long and schedule-dependent, commonly running two to three months or more door to door. Air freight is extremely limited, routing via an Australasian gateway onto the infrequent flights serving Nauru International Airport, and is reserved for small, urgent consignments.
Nauruan customs is administered by the national customs service under the Department of Finance. Used personal effects and household goods belonging to a person establishing residence are generally treated favourably, but a detailed, valued inventory and proof of residence or employment are essential. Because connectivity is so limited, we confirm the inbound vessel schedule and the realistic delivery window before any goods leave the UAE.
Sea & air freight
Sea via Jebel Ali transshipping through an Asian or Australasian hub onto Pacific feeders into Aiwo — limited air for urgent items.
Nauruan customs handled
Clearance with the national customs service, with the used-goods inventory prepared against proof of residence or employment.
Transhipment planned
No direct service exists, so we route through a proven hub and align with infrequent Pacific feeder schedules.
One coordinator
A single contact owns the move across every leg — no information lost between the UAE, the hub and the island.
Who moves on this route
The UAE–Nauru corridor mainly carries household moves — individuals and families relocating for work or to join relatives. It also handles project and business freight, including equipment and supplies for government and infrastructure programmes. This single page covers the whole corridor; tell us what you are shipping and we scope it accordingly.
Where we deliver
Nauru is a single small island, and we deliver across all of its districts, including:
- Yaren — the de facto capital district, home to government offices
- Aiwo — the harbour district and the island’s point of cargo entry
- Denigomodu — one of the more populous residential districts
- Meneng, Anabar and the remaining districts — reached easily given the island’s compact size
How your move works
- Survey and quote. We assess volume and contents in the UAE, in person or by video, and return a clear quote with the full routing and realistic timeline explained.
- Document in advance. The feeder schedule is confirmed, and customs paperwork and the valued inventory are prepared before departure.
- Pack and ship. Our crew packs to export standard for a long multi-leg ocean journey, builds a full inventory, and dispatches from Jebel Ali or DXB.
- Clear and deliver. We manage Nauruan customs clearance at Aiwo and coordinate onward delivery and unpacking at your address.
Relocating to Nauru demands patient, meticulous planning, and that is exactly what Seemleius provides. Request a quote and your coordinator will map the routing and timeline to your move.
