Certain categories require additional consideration: alcoholic beverages attract duty and SST with no household exemption; high-power electrical appliances may require Malaysian Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) compliance; and items containing wood, plant material or animal products may need clearance from the Department of Agriculture or the Department of Veterinary Services.
