Egypt is one of the busiest corridors from the UAE — a route shaped by deep family, business and cultural ties between the Gulf and the Arab world’s most populous nation. The UAE–Egypt corridor carries returning Egyptian families, professionals relocating to Cairo’s growing economy, and businesses moving operations or stock to a major regional market. Seemleius runs the corridor as a single coordinated move.

Egypt is comparatively well connected to the UAE by both sea and air, which makes for an efficient corridor by regional standards. The customs side, however, is detailed and requires precise documentation. We know the route in depth and prepare the paperwork so the shipment clears without avoidable delay.

Freight routes & customs

Sea freight departs Jebel Ali for Egypt’s main container ports — Alexandria and the adjacent El Dekheila on the Mediterranean, or Port Said and Sokhna near the Suez Canal. Transit commonly runs in the region of two to four weeks door to door and is the cost-effective choice for full household volumes. Air freight from DXB into Cairo International Airport (CAI) is a direct flight of around four hours and suits urgent or smaller consignments.

Customs is administered by the Egyptian Customs Authority. Returning nationals and new residents may import used personal effects with relief from import duties under transfer-of-residence provisions, subject to a detailed inventory, proof of prior ownership and residence or work documentation. Valuation and documentation are reviewed closely, and an ACID advance cargo declaration applies to shipments through the Nafeza system. We prepare and verify every document before the shipment sails.

Sea & air freight

Sea via Jebel Ali into Alexandria, Port Said or Sokhna for full households — air DXB to Cairo (CAI) when the schedule is tight.

Egyptian customs handled

Egyptian Customs Authority clearance, the ACID/Nafeza advance declaration and transfer-of-residence relief prepared accurately in advance.

Efficient regional corridor

Strong sea and direct air links keep the UAE–Egypt route among the faster corridors from the Gulf.

One coordinator

A single point of contact owns the move from the UAE survey to the Egyptian delivery — no information lost between vendors.

Who moves this route

The corridor serves household relocations — returning families and individuals settling in Cairo and beyond, with full packing, shipping and delivery. It also carries business and office moves for companies entering or expanding in the Egyptian market, and commercial freight where equipment, stock or fittings travel alongside the team. This single page covers all three; your coordinator scopes the right approach.

Where we deliver

We deliver across Egypt’s main destinations and their surrounding regions:

  • Cairo — the capital and largest city, including the New Administrative Capital, the focus of most arrivals
  • Alexandria — the major Mediterranean port and second city
  • Giza — the large city adjoining Cairo on the west bank of the Nile
  • Port Said — the Suez Canal port city in the northeast
  • Suez — the canal city at the head of the Gulf of Suez
  • Mansoura — a major city of the Nile Delta

How your move works

  1. Survey and quote. We assess volume and contents in the UAE, in person or by video, and return a clear, itemised quote with freight options explained.
  2. Document in advance. Dates are confirmed, space is booked, and Egyptian customs and ACID/Nafeza paperwork is prepared and verified before departure.
  3. Pack and ship. Our crew packs to export standard, builds a full inventory, and dispatches from Jebel Ali or DXB on the booked route.
  4. Clear and deliver. We manage clearance at the Egyptian point of entry and coordinate onward delivery, unpacking and reassembly at your address.

The Dubai–Egypt corridor is well established and efficient when properly prepared. Request a quote and your coordinator will map the route, the timeline and the paperwork around your relocation.
