Antigua and Barbuda is a twin-island nation in the eastern Caribbean known for its beaches, its yachting scene and a citizenship-by-investment programme that draws international residents. Relocating there from the UAE is a long-haul move across two oceans, but it is a route Seemleius runs smoothly on the Dubai–Antigua corridor with careful planning around Caribbean shipping schedules.

The UAE–Antigua route carries investors and second-home owners taking up residence, families relocating for the climate and lifestyle, and a steady flow of hospitality and yachting-related moves. Because the islands are reached by transhipment rather than direct service, realistic scheduling and clear communication are central to a successful move.

Freight routes and customs

St John’s Harbour on Antigua is the main commercial port and the discharge point for household sea freight. There is no direct sea service from the Gulf. Since the Strait of Hormuz closed to commercial shipping in February 2026, containers go by road to a port outside the strait, such as Khor Fakkan or Fujairah on the UAE’s east coast or Sohar in Oman, and transship from there through a hub — commonly a European port or a Caribbean transhipment centre such as Kingston or Caucedo. Routing and dates are confirmed at the survey. Air freight from DXB into V.C. Bird International Airport routes via a North American or European connection and suits urgent or smaller consignments.

Customs is handled by the Antigua and Barbuda Customs & Excise Division. Incoming residents can generally import used household goods, with relief on personal effects available to returning nationals and to qualifying new residents, subject to a detailed valued inventory and proof of residency status. We prepare the documentation in advance so the shipment is assessed correctly at St John’s.

Sea & air freight

Container sea freight transhipped to St John’s Harbour — air via DXB into V.C. Bird when time is short.

Caribbean customs handled

Valued inventories and import documentation prepared for the Customs & Excise Division.

Transhipment aware

With no direct service, we route via established hubs and keep you informed as each leg is confirmed.

One coordinator

A single contact owns the move from the UAE survey to delivery in Antigua — across long-haul legs, no gaps.

Who moves this route

The corridor serves a defined mix. Household relocations dominate — investors, retirees and families moving full furniture loads to villas and apartments. Business and office moves cover entrepreneurs establishing island operations and transferring records and equipment. Commercial freight is lighter but includes hospitality fit-out, retail stock and yachting-sector equipment.

Where we deliver

We deliver across the twin islands:

  • St John’s — the capital and commercial centre on Antigua
  • English Harbour — the historic yachting hub on Antigua’s south coast
  • Jolly Harbour — a popular residential and marina community on the west coast
  • All Saints — a central town on Antigua
  • Falmouth — a coastal village near the yachting harbours
  • Codrington — the main settlement on the sister island of Barbuda

How your move works

  1. Survey and quote. We assess volume and contents in the UAE, in person or by video, and return a clear itemised quote with the routing explained.
  2. Document in advance. Dates are confirmed, freight space is booked, and Antigua customs paperwork is prepared and verified before departure.
  3. Pack and ship. Our crew packs to export standard, builds a full inventory and dispatches by sea or air on the booked route.
  4. Clear and deliver. Our destination partner handles transhipment, clearance at St John’s and onward delivery, unpacking and reassembly at your address.

Whether you are an investor, a relocating family or a business setting up on the islands, the UAE–Antigua and Barbuda corridor is fully workable with the right planning. Request a quote and your coordinator will map it out.
