One coordinator from your Dubai door to your Singapore one

Moving from Dubai to Singapore comes with one strict customs rule: GST relief on your used household goods depends on a Declaration of Facts filed before the goods arrive. As international movers to Singapore, we plan the whole move around that deadline, from the survey in Dubai or Abu Dhabi to unpacking in your new home.

We are Seemleius Mobility and Cargo L.L.C in Dubai Investment Park. We move foreign residents relocating to Singapore and Singapore Citizens and PRs coming home.

What your relocation to Singapore includes

One fixed, itemised quote covers:

  • A 100% free in-home or video survey anywhere in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah.
  • Export packing by trained crews, crating for fragile items and art, and furniture dismantling and reassembly.
  • An itemised packing list and the export documents, prepared in Dubai.
  • Your documents for the Declaration of Facts (DOF), collected before the ship sails so it can be filed before arrival.
  • Sea freight in a full or shared container, depending on volume, and air freight for essentials.
  • Customs clearance and collection from the PSA port area with our destination partner.
  • Delivery, placement and unpacking by our destination partner's movers and packers in Singapore.
  • Transit insurance available (terms confirmed with your quote).
  • Storage in Dubai, short or long term, if your dates don't line up.

GST relief and customs when moving from Dubai to Singapore

Used household items brought in when you move to Singapore attract GST, currently 9%, unless Singapore Customs grants relief. They face GST rather than customs duty: only intoxicating liquors, tobacco products, motor vehicles, and petroleum products and biodiesel blends are dutiable.

GST relief is open to Singapore Citizens and PRs returning to live in Singapore and to foreigners relocating there. All of these conditions must be met:

  • you are moving your residence from outside Singapore;
  • you own the items and have used and possessed them for at least 3 months;
  • you will not sell, give away or dispose of them for 3 months after arrival;
  • they are imported within 6 months of your first arrival.

For sea freight, you or your agent submit an online Declaration of Facts (DOF) before the goods arrive, with your passport or NRIC, proof that you are moving to Singapore (Customs lists the accepted documents) and the bill of lading. Only one DOF is allowed per bill of lading. If the goods have already arrived, relief is rejected and GST is payable. After approval, the agent applies for a Customs In-Non-Payment (GST Relief) permit on TradeNet within 10 working days; if relief is refused, an In-Payment (GST) permit is taken out instead.

No relief for anyone: intoxicating liquors, tobacco products, motor vehicles, private aircraft, boats and yachts, and commercial goods. Controlled goods need approval from the relevant authority before import. Prohibited outright: chewing gum (except HSA-approved dental or medicinal gum), e-cigarettes and vaporisers and their parts, shisha, chewing tobacco, snuff, gutkha, khaini and zarda, endangered-species products, scanning receivers and jamming devices, obscene and seditious material, and controlled drugs.

We collect your documents in Dubai so the DOF can be filed in time, and our destination partner handles the permit and the collection. You provide your passport or NRIC and your proof of moving; you usually do not need to be at the checkpoint when the goods are collected. Official charges are listed in your quote.

Routes and transit times to Singapore

Since 28 February 2026 the Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed to commercial shipping, so UAE containers go by road to a port outside the strait, such as Khor Fakkan or Fujairah on the east coast or Sohar in Oman, and sail from there. Schedules are longer and less predictable than before.

We confirm your routing and door-to-door dates at the survey and build the timetable around the DOF: your documents are collected before the ship sails, so the declaration can be filed before the goods arrive. Once cleared, sea freight is collected from the PSA port area.

For clothes and essentials you need on arrival, air freight is the faster option.

How your move to Singapore runs

  • Survey: a coordinator visits your home and flags anything that gets no relief or is prohibited.
  • Fixed quote: every service itemised, with the transit insurance terms.
  • Packing day: crews dismantle, wrap and crate, and list every box.
  • Departure: your container goes by road to the port and sails on the confirmed routing, with your DOF documents ready.
  • Before arrival: the DOF is submitted; once it is approved, the GST Relief permit follows.
  • Arrival and delivery: our destination partner collects your goods from the PSA port area, delivers them, places and reassembles your furniture and unpacks.

Where we deliver in Singapore

We deliver across Singapore, including Orchard, Bukit Timah, Tanglin, Holland Village, Novena and the East Coast.

Before delivery day we ask about the new address: lift booking and loading-bay access for a condominium, parking for the truck, and any building rules on move-in times. Our destination partner plans the delivery around those details, so the crew arrives prepared.

Pets and cars

Pets and vehicles are moved as separate services with their own paperwork: see pet relocation and vehicle shipping. Motor vehicles are dutiable and get no GST relief, so a car is quoted and cleared separately.

Storage in Dubai

If your lease ends before your flight, we keep your goods in storage in Dubai, short or long term. Keep the 6-month window in mind: goods must be imported within 6 months of your first arrival to qualify for relief.

Book your free in-home survey

A coordinator visits your home in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, goes through each room with you and notes what goes by sea, by air, into storage or nowhere at all. It is also when we check your dates against the 6-month window and flag anything Singapore prohibits.

The survey is 100% free with no obligation, and your fixed, itemised quote follows.

Book through the form on this page or our quote page, or call or WhatsApp +971 56 899 2011.

How long does moving from Dubai to Singapore take?

Since the Strait of Hormuz was effectively closed to commercial shipping on 28 February 2026, containers go by road to a port outside the strait, such as Khor Fakkan on the UAE's east coast or Sohar in Oman, before sailing, and schedules are longer and less predictable than before. We confirm your routing and door-to-door dates at the survey and plan the DOF around them, so it is filed before the goods arrive. Air freight suits the essentials you need first.

When must the Declaration of Facts be filed?

Before your goods arrive in Singapore. If they have already arrived, relief is rejected and GST is payable. Only one DOF is allowed per bill of lading, and after approval the agent applies for the GST Relief permit on TradeNet within 10 working days.

Do my things need 12 months of use to qualify for GST relief?

No. Singapore's rule is 3 months: you must own the items and have used them for at least 3 months, and you must not sell or give them away for 3 months after arrival. They must also be imported within 6 months of your first arrival.

Can I ship my shisha, vape or chewing gum?

No. Shisha, e-cigarettes and vaporisers (and their parts) are prohibited imports, and so is chewing gum, except HSA-approved dental or medicinal gum. Liquor and tobacco get no GST relief.

What should I look for in the best international movers to Singapore?

A plan for the DOF, with your documents collected before the ship sails; a fixed, itemised quote that includes clearance, delivery and unpacking in Singapore; export packing and crating done in Dubai; and the transit insurance terms in writing. One coordinator for the whole move saves a lot of chasing.

Do I need a mover in Singapore as well as one in Dubai?

No. Someone has to survey, pack and export your home in Dubai and have the DOF documents ready before the ship sails. We do that end ourselves, and our destination partner in Singapore clears, delivers and unpacks as part of the same move, so a separate relocation company in Singapore isn't needed for the move itself.

How much does a move to Singapore cost?

It depends on the volume of your home, sea or air, a full or shared container, crating, access at both ends, storage and insurance. The free in-home survey gives you a fixed, itemised quote, with official charges listed.
