Freight routes & customs

Sea freight departs Jebel Ali for the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, from where containers move overland through Iran or via the Uzbekistan corridor to Tajikistan — a multi-leg journey that typically runs five to eight weeks door to door depending on border conditions. Air freight from DXB into Dushanbe International Airport is the faster option for urgent or higher-value consignments, usually clearing within one to two weeks. Customs is administered by the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. Returning citizens and arriving residents may import used household effects with relief from duty where goods are demonstrably personal property and supported by a residence permit and a detailed inventory; we prepare that file in advance.
