Freight routes and customs

Sea freight departs Jebel Ali and is generally transhipped — often via Colombo or Salalah — before reaching Port Victoria on Mahé, the country’s only commercial seaport. Transit typically runs four to seven weeks depending on the connecting sailing. Air freight from DXB into Seychelles International Airport on Mahé is the faster choice, usually clearing door to door within one to two weeks, and is well suited to smaller shipments and urgent timelines.

Customs is administered by the Seychelles Revenue Commission. Returning residents and incoming households can generally claim relief on used personal effects and household goods under transfer-of-residence provisions, supported by a detailed inventory, passport and evidence of the move. Vehicles and new goods are treated separately and attract duty. We confirm the eligibility position and prepare the declaration before the shipment sails.
