Identification by microchip, a current rabies vaccination with a valid titre where required, a recent veterinary health certificate attested by the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and an import permit issued by MEWA before the animal travels — all are mandatory. Approved breeds, age limits and post-arrival inspection rules apply. The corridor is short, but the paperwork is not optional, and missing any of it triggers refusal or quarantine at the Saudi border or port of entry.

Vehicle shipping to Saudi Arabia

Moving a car or motorcycle into Saudi Arabia is a multi-step process: vehicle freight from the UAE, export deregistration with the UAE RTA, Saudi customs clearance on FASAH, the Saudi technical inspection, the National Centre for Road Diagnostics (NCRD) VIN verification and finally registration with the Saudi traffic authority (Muroor) under the new ownership. Because the corridor is a road route, vehicle movement is well established — but it still has to be done properly to avoid a car sitting in a Saudi yard waiting for paperwork.

The vehicle environment in the Kingdom is regulated in ways that catch UAE owners out. Right-hand-drive vehicles are not permitted. The age limit on imported used vehicles is enforced (typically no more than five model years old for passenger cars). Vehicles must pass the Saudi Environmental and Vehicle Inspection (EVI) and the safety inspection before they can be plated. Customs duty is typically 5% under the GCC tariff, with 15% Saudi VAT on the duty-paid value — though personal-vehicle relief can apply for residence-shift movers under specific conditions. The vehicle ownership transfer

Once the vehicle is in the Kingdom and has passed inspection, the registration is transferred at the Saudi traffic authority (Muroor) under the new ownership, on the basis of the cleared customs file, the inspection pass and the owner’s Iqama. We do not act as the registration agent — that is a personal step requiring the owner’s presence — but we hand over a complete, ordered file so the appointment is a formality rather than a forensic exercise.
