Sea freight from Jebel Ali is the standard choice for a full household. Containers sail, often via a transhipment hub, into one of Brazil’s principal ports — Santos serving São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paranaguá in the south, or Suape and Salvador in the northeast. Door-to-door transit usually falls in a 30 to 50 day range depending on routing and the destination region. Air freight from DXB routes into Guarulhos International Airport (São Paulo) or Galeão (Rio de Janeiro) and suits documents and time-critical cargo.

Clearance is handled by the Receita Federal, Brazil’s federal revenue service, through the Siscomex electronic system. Incoming residents and returning nationals can import used personal and household effects with transfer-of-residence relief, subject to a valued inventory, proof of prior ownership and use abroad, and evidence of the residence change. Brazilian customs is exacting and document consistency is essential. We prepare everything before the container sails so clearance is not delayed.
