Door-to-door transit usually falls in a 35 to 55 day range depending on sailing and connection schedules. Air freight from DXB routes via a US or European gateway into Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport near Belize City, and suits documents and small urgent cargo.

The Belize Customs & Excise Department oversees clearance. Incoming residents — particularly those under the Qualified Retired Persons programme — and returning nationals may import used personal and household effects with duty relief, subject to a valued inventory and proof of prior ownership and use.
