Many employers move staff along the UAE–Saudi corridor. For the HR and mobility teams managing that flow out of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the freezones, the challenge is not any single move — it is keeping dozens of them consistent against the Iqama clock. Seemleius employee relocation into Saudi Arabia is built as a programme: one calm point of contact for each relocating person, and the documentation and reporting your team needs to run the whole thing without it landing back on your inbox.
Built for HR and mobility teams moving people into the Kingdom
When employee moves are booked ad hoc, the work lands back on HR — chasing quotes, reconciling mismatched invoices, fielding the employee’s questions about what they can bring, when their housing allowance kicks in and whether their child’s school start will line up. We take that away. Your relocation policy is aligned with us once, and every Saudi move then runs to the same rules, with the employee supported directly so the questions stop coming back to your desk.
The Iqama clock, and why the move date is not the move date
The pivotal date on a Saudi employee move is rarely the one in the policy spreadsheet. It is the Iqama issuance date: the customs broker is authorised on FASAH once the Iqama is issued, and the employee needs to be in Saudi Arabia when the goods are cleared. The Iqama itself runs through the employer and Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat); we do not advise on it, and its timing can move. We build that uncertainty into the plan: a flexible dispatch window from the UAE, short-term storage in Dubai held against confirmation, and a re-confirmation point seventy-two hours before the truck loads. The employee is never asked to commit to a date that the Iqama has not made firm.
What the programme covers
Policy-aligned moves
Every relocation into the Kingdom runs to your mobility policy — volume caps, entitlements, approvals, lump-sum vs managed — without you policing it line by line.
Employee support
The relocating person deals with one coordinator, which cuts both their stress and the inbound questions to HR — from packing standards to Iqama-tied dispatch timing.
Consistent documentation
Quotes, inventories, customs paperwork and invoices in one format across every move, ready for finance and mobility records and for cross-charging to the Saudi entity.
Status reporting
Clear visibility across all active Saudi moves — pre-dispatch, in transit, cleared, delivered — so you always know where each one stands.
Housing, schools and the settling-in piece
Saudi housing allowances vary widely by employer and grade, and the practical question for HR is whether the move date lets the employee draw on the allowance in time to secure compound accommodation. If the permanent lease is not yet signed, the household goods can wait in storage in Dubai until there is an address to deliver to. For families, we line the household dispatch up with the start of term at the chosen international school in Riyadh, the Eastern Province or Jeddah, so the children can unpack their own rooms before week one, not midway through term.
How it works
- Align the programme. We map to your relocation policy once, so every move into the Kingdom runs to the same rules — volume caps, mode entitlements, approval flow.
- Initiate a move. HR refers the employee; we survey at the UAE address and return a policy-checked quote within the SLA.
- Manage the relocation. Packing, the corridor crossing, Saudi customs on FASAH with our destination partner, delivery and unpacking are coordinated for the employee, with HR updated at agreed milestones.
- Report. You receive consistent documentation and status reporting for every move, with finance-ready invoicing aligned to your cost-centre structure.
Documents the employee never has to chase
Every Saudi employee move generates a paperwork load that, left to the employee, becomes a part-time job. The household inventory, the land cargo manifest, the personal-effects relief file (Iqama copy, proof of first arrival, receipts for any new items), the customs query responses if the consignment is held for review — all of it sits with the coordinator, not the relocating person. The employee signs what they need to sign and is otherwise free to focus on starting the new role.
From a single transfer to a continuous programme
Whether you move a handful of people into Saudi Arabia each year — senior leaders setting up an RHQ presence — or run a continuous programme of operational and technical hires into the Eastern Province, the service scales to fit. The employee experience stays the same: one coordinator, one set of dates, one calm point of contact through the Iqama uncertainty. Talk to us about your policy and we will set it up to run cleanly across every move.

Common questions about this move
Anything specific to your situation? A specialist for this corridor is happy to help.
Contact usHow long does a move to Saudi Arabia take?
It depends on the freight mode, the volume and the routing, which your coordinator confirms at the survey along with a realistic window — sea freight is the economical choice for a full household, air freight is faster for essentials.
Do you handle customs at both ends?
Yes, with our destination partner: we prepare the export paperwork in Dubai, and clearance at the destination is handled by our partner there. Some countries ask you to apply for duty relief yourself — your coordinator tells you what to file and when.
Is my shipment insured in transit?
Transit insurance (all-risk cover) is available. Your coordinator explains the cover options when quoting, and the terms are confirmed in your quote.
How far ahead should I book?
Two to four weeks is comfortable for most international moves, but we regularly handle urgent relocations. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility you have on dates and freight space.
Will I have one point of contact?
Yes — one coordinator in Dubai looks after your move from the survey to delivery and works with our destination partner, so you are never passed between companies.
