Slovakia has become a serious destination for UAE businesses building a European base — and the reasons are practical rather than fashionable. The country sits at the centre of Europe, wages and office costs are competitive, the automotive and electronics supply chains are deep, and Košice and Bratislava have both grown into credible shared-services and technology centres. When a UAE business makes that move, the relocation rarely happens on its own; it runs alongside entity formation, a new lease, an HR mobility plan and a team that needs to be working from day one. The physical move cannot be the part that introduces risk.

What “operational on day one” requires

A corporate relocation from the UAE to Slovakia is not a large house move. It is a sequenced project: office furniture reassembled to a Slovak floor plan, IT that has to come back up in the right order, commercial goods with their own import treatment, and a customs process that, because Slovakia is landlocked, involves a port of arrival, an inland leg and a clearance point that has to be chosen deliberately. We treat it as exactly that — an operational project with a single owner and a delivery standard measured in continuity, not cartons.

The routing has direct consequences for scheduling. Cargo into Slovakia arrives through Koper, Rijeka, Hamburg or Bremerhaven and then travels inland by rail or road, so a corporate move has a longer planning horizon than a same-region relocation. We build the move window around that reality — and around Slovak working-hours norms, where noisy reassembly and lift-truck work in mixed-use or shared office buildings is best scheduled away from early mornings, evenings and Sundays to keep the building’s other tenants onside.

Office furniture & fit-out

Workstations, desks, storage and meeting-room equipment dismantled in the UAE, packed, shipped through a port outside the Strait of Hormuz and reassembled to your Slovak floor plan in Bratislava, Košice or Nitra.

IT & sensitive equipment

Servers, network kit and end-user devices sequenced so they arrive in the right order and come back up cleanly at the Slovak end — with secure decommissioning at the UAE origin.

EU commercial customs

Business goods import documentation prepared accurately for the Finančná správa — HS classification, EORI registration, valuation and the EU transit needed for a landlocked route.

Phased scheduling

The move sequenced to keep operating downtime to a minimum — typically across a weekend or quiet period, with the longer inland transit factored into the plan.

Corporate destinations in Slovakia

We relocate offices and operations to all of Slovakia’s main business centres:

  • Bratislava — the capital, the financial and corporate centre, and the location of most international headquarters and regional offices
  • Košice — the eastern metropolis, a fast-growing technology, IT and shared-services hub with a strong university pipeline
  • Žilina — a northern automotive and engineering centre, well placed for supplier and manufacturing operations
  • Nitra — a major automotive production base in the southwest, with the supplier network that surrounds large-scale assembly
  • Trnava — an automotive and manufacturing town close to Bratislava, often combined with a capital-city corporate presence
  • Prešov — an eastern regional centre near Košice, with engineering, logistics and back-office employers

IT decommissioning and Slovak data rules

Corporate moves into Slovakia increasingly turn on the IT element. Servers and storage decommissioned in the UAE often hold personal data that, once the company has a Slovak establishment, falls under EU data protection law as enforced by the Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov, the Slovak data protection authority. We coordinate secure decommissioning, certified data destruction where required, and logistics that keep custody chains documented so the audit trail is clean. End-user devices are typically shipped with the user where possible to minimise downtime, with shared infrastructure scheduled around the IT cutover plan.

Commercial goods and the EORI chain

If the move includes commercial stock, samples or operational equipment, the EU import side requires an EORI number registered against the Slovak entity, accurate HS classification for each line item, and an import declaration to the Finančná správa once the cargo has completed its inland leg — or moved inland under T1 transit and cleared closer to the destination. We prepare the import file in parallel with the move itself so customs treatment is not the bottleneck on day one.

How a corporate move runs

  1. Survey and access check. We assess the UAE premises and, with our destination partner, the Slovak destination: access and lift availability at each, building hours, and any tenancy constraints that affect timing.
  2. Plan the move window. The schedule is built around the window that costs your operation the least — start date, building access, IT cutover — with the inland transit time built in.
  3. Pack, ship and clear. Our crew packs and labels to the Slovak floor plan, the shipment travels on the booked port-and-inland route, and Slovak customs is managed in parallel.
  4. Set up and restart. The Slovak office is laid out, reassembled and ready for your team to bring the operation back up, with noisy tasks scheduled considerately for the building.

From a small representative office to a full commercial floor, the measure is the same: continuity. The wider corridor — routing, customs, what arrival into Slovakia involves — is set out on our moving to Slovakia guide. Talk to us about your Slovakia relocation and we will plan it around your operational requirements and the realities of moving into a landlocked European market.

Common questions about this move

How long does a move to Slovakia take?

It depends on the freight mode, the volume and the routing, which your coordinator confirms at the survey along with a realistic window — sea freight is the economical choice for a full household, air freight is faster for essentials.

Do you handle customs at both ends?

Yes, with our destination partner: we prepare the export paperwork in Dubai, and clearance at the destination is handled by our partner there. Some countries ask you to apply for duty relief yourself — your coordinator tells you what to file and when.

Is my shipment insured in transit?

Transit insurance (all-risk cover) is available. Your coordinator explains the cover options when quoting, and the terms are confirmed in your quote.

How far ahead should I book?

Two to four weeks is comfortable for most international moves, but we regularly handle urgent relocations. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility you have on dates and freight space.

Will I have one point of contact?

Yes — one coordinator in Dubai looks after your move from the survey to delivery and works with our destination partner, so you are never passed between companies.
