Norway is an increasingly common destination for UAE businesses building a Nordic presence — and the reasons are specific. Oslo’s finance, technology and maritime sectors, Stavanger’s petroleum and subsea cluster, Bergen’s shipping and seafood economy, Trondheim’s research base. When a UAE company makes that move, the office relocation almost never happens on its own. It runs alongside entity registration, a new commercial lease, an HR mobility plan and a team that has to be productive quickly. The physical move is the part that cannot be allowed to introduce risk.
What “operational quickly” actually requires
A corporate relocation from the UAE to Norway is not a scaled-up house move. It is a sequenced project: office furniture that must be reassembled to a Norwegian floor plan, IT that has to come back up in a controlled order, commercial goods with their own customs treatment, and a Norwegian import clearance with Tolletaten that is wholly separate from any EU handling. We run it as exactly that — an operational project with a single owner and a standard measured in business continuity, not cartons unpacked.
Norwegian working norms also shape how the move is scheduled. The country’s working-environment rules give employee representatives a genuine voice in significant workplace changes, and where a business already has Norwegian staff, the relocation should be raised with them early rather than presented as a finished decision. Building access, shared-tenancy quiet hours and the short winter daylight all affect when heavier reassembly work is best done. We plan the move window around those realities rather than against them.
Office furniture & fit-out
Workstations, desks, storage and meeting-room equipment dismantled in the UAE, packed, shipped from a port outside the Strait of Hormuz to a Norwegian port, and reassembled to your Oslo, Bergen or Stavanger floor plan.
IT & sensitive equipment
Servers, network kit and end-user devices sequenced so they arrive in the right order and come back up cleanly at the Norwegian end — with secure decommissioning at the UAE origin.
Norwegian customs
Business-goods import documentation prepared for Tolletaten as a discrete clearance — commodity classification, importer registration, valuation and supporting records done properly.
Phased scheduling
The move sequenced to keep operational downtime to a minimum — typically across a weekend or quiet period, with building-access and daylight constraints built into the plan.
Corporate destinations in Norway
We relocate offices and operations to all of Norway’s main business centres:
- Oslo — finance, technology, professional services, maritime headquarters and the bulk of international corporate activity
- Stavanger — petroleum, subsea engineering and the energy supply chain across the surrounding region
- Bergen — shipping, seafood, energy and a substantial western-coast commercial community
- Trondheim — research, technology and engineering firms clustered around the university
- Drammen — a growing commercial centre within easy reach of Oslo, with its own port and logistics access
IT decommissioning and Norwegian data rules
Corporate moves into Norway increasingly turn on the IT element. Servers and storage decommissioned in the UAE often hold personal data, and once the company has Norwegian operations that data falls under the General Data Protection Regulation as applied in Norway through the EEA agreement and enforced by Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. We coordinate secure decommissioning, certified data destruction where it is required, and logistics that keep the chain of custody documented. End-user devices are typically shipped with their users where possible to limit downtime, with shared infrastructure scheduled around the IT cutover plan.
Commercial goods and the Tolletaten chain
If the move includes commercial stock, samples or operational equipment, the import side requires the Norwegian entity to be properly identified to Tolletaten, accurate commodity classification for each line, and the import declaration prepared ahead of the cargo reaching the Norwegian border. Because Norway is outside the EU customs union, that declaration is its own event — not something that carries over from a transit leg through a continental port. We prepare the import file in parallel with the move so customs is never the bottleneck on the first day.
How a corporate move runs
- Survey and check access. We survey the UAE premises and check the Norwegian destination with our destination partner: access and lift availability, building hours, and any employee-representation or scheduling constraints that affect timing.
- Plan the move window. The schedule is built around the window that costs your operation the least — start date, building access, IT cutover, and early consultation with Norwegian staff where applicable.
- Pack, ship and clear. Our crew packs and labels to the Norwegian floor plan, the shipment travels on the booked route, and Tolletaten clearance is managed in parallel.
- Set up and restart. The Norwegian office is laid out, reassembled and ready for your team to bring the operation back up — with noisy reassembly scheduled around building rules.
From a small representative office to a full commercial floor, the measure is the same: continuity. For the wider corridor picture, see our overview of moving from the UAE to Norway. To plan your relocation, talk to us and we will build it around your operational requirements, your consultation timeline and the building you are moving into.

Common questions about this move
Anything specific to your situation? A specialist for this corridor is happy to help.
Contact usHow long does a move to Norway take?
It depends on the freight mode, the volume and the routing, which your coordinator confirms at the survey along with a realistic window — sea freight is the economical choice for a full household, air freight is faster for essentials.
Do you handle customs at both ends?
Yes, with our destination partner: we prepare the export paperwork in Dubai, and clearance at the destination is handled by our partner there. Some countries ask you to apply for duty relief yourself — your coordinator tells you what to file and when.
Is my shipment insured in transit?
Transit insurance (all-risk cover) is available. Your coordinator explains the cover options when quoting, and the terms are confirmed in your quote.
How far ahead should I book?
Two to four weeks is comfortable for most international moves, but we regularly handle urgent relocations. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility you have on dates and freight space.
Will I have one point of contact?
Yes — one coordinator in Dubai looks after your move from the survey to delivery and works with our destination partner, so you are never passed between companies.
