Since the Strait of Hormuz closed to commercial shipping in February 2026, containers are trucked to a port outside the strait, such as Khor Fakkan or Fujairah on the UAE’s east coast or Sohar in Oman, and sail from there to the Port of Beirut, Lebanon’s principal seaport on the Mediterranean coast, with the Port of Tripoli in the north providing an alternative gateway. Routing and dates are confirmed at the survey. Air freight from DXB into Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport is a short and frequent route, usually clearing within days, and suits time-sensitive or smaller shipments. From the port or airport, onward road delivery covers Beirut and the regions.

Lebanese Customs administers the country’s import rules. Returning residents and new arrivals may import used personal effects and household goods with relief from customs duty, provided the goods were owned and used before the move and the inventory, passport, and change-of-residence evidence are in order. We prepare the detailed packing list and supporting documentation in advance so your shipment is treated as a transfer of residence.
