A house removal company for Dublin, starting in Dubai

Moving your household from Dubai or Abu Dhabi? As international movers to Dublin, we survey and pack your home in the UAE, prepare the export papers and your Irish customs claim, ship your belongings and deliver them to your new address, whether that is an apartment in Ballsbridge or a family house in Malahide.

Seemleius is an international moving company for Dublin and the rest of Ireland, based in Dubai Investment Park. One coordinator runs your move from survey to unpacking, and our destination partner clears customs and delivers at the Irish end.

Dublin removals: what's included

Your fixed, itemised quote covers the whole move:

  • A free in-home or video survey anywhere in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah.
  • Export packing by trained crews, crates for art and fragile pieces, and furniture dismantling and reassembly.
  • UAE export documents, plus the inventory and form C&E 1076, prepared with you.
  • Sea freight in a full or shared container, depending on volume, and air freight for what you need first.
  • Customs clearance in Ireland by our destination partner.
  • Delivery planned around your street, including any lorry permit or parking suspension it needs.
  • Placement room by room, reassembly and unpacking.
  • Transit insurance available (terms confirmed with your quote).

Irish customs relief for your Dublin move

If you are moving your normal residence to Ireland from outside the EU, your used personal and household goods come in without customs duty or VAT, provided you have lived outside the EU for at least 12 continuous months and have had and used the goods for at least 6 months. Duty and tax must have been paid on them where you bought them.

Timing: the goods can arrive from 6 months before to 12 months after your move. Form C&E 1076 is emailed, with your supporting documents, to Revenue's transfer-of-residence mailbox for Dublin Port two weeks before the goods arrive. We prepare it with you and send it for you.

What you provide: proof of your residence abroad, of your move to Ireland and that you have owned and used the goods, such as receipts showing tax paid and not refunded, a lease or property purchase papers, proof of employment or of its end, and evidence of day-to-day living in the UAE. We prepare the inventory; items of value need an estimated current market value.

Alcohol and tobacco beyond traveller allowances, trade tools and commercial vehicles are excluded, and if the goods are hired out, lent or sold within 12 months, the import charges become payable. A car needs its own VRT relief and must be registered within 30 days of arrival. The full rules are on our Ireland removals page.

Shipping to Dublin Port in 2026

Deep-sea containers reach Dublin through a European hub. Dublin Port has daily lift-on/lift-off sailings with Rotterdam, which it calls its "Global Superhub", weekly links with Antwerp and several connections a day with Liverpool and Zeebrugge.

Since 28 February 2026 the Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed to commercial shipping. UAE containers now travel by road to a port outside the strait, such as Khor Fakkan or Fujairah on the east coast or Sohar in Oman, and sail from there, on longer and less predictable schedules than before.

As a guide, CMA CGM's September 2026 schedule, which starts at Duqm in Oman, lists 40 days from Duqm to Rotterdam, port to port; the road and feeder legs from the UAE and the onward sailing to Dublin come on top. We confirm your routing and dates at the survey, and air freight can bring the essentials sooner.

How your move to Dublin runs

  • Survey: at your home in the UAE, with questions about the Dublin address: floor, lift, parking and the street outside.
  • Fixed quote: itemised, with no obligation.
  • Paperwork: export documents, the inventory and form C&E 1076.
  • Packing day: crews pack, crate and list every item.
  • Departure: by road to the departure port, then by sea through a European hub.
  • Arrival and clearance: at Dublin Port, with the claim already with Revenue.
  • Delivery: permit and parking arranged where needed, furniture reassembled and boxes unpacked.

Delivering in Dublin: lorry permits, parking and neighbourhoods

We deliver across Dublin city and county, from Ballsbridge, Ranelagh and Rathmines to Dún Laoghaire, Malahide and Sandyford. Two city rules shape delivery day, and we plan for both:

  • Lorry permits: vehicles with 5 or more axles need a permit to enter the city cordon, roughly the area inside the canals, between 07:00 and 19:00 every day. In the Sandymount area the rule applies around the clock. A load/unload permit covers up to 5 stops and can be bought online up to 14 days ahead.
  • Parking suspensions: Dublin City Council can suspend pay-and-display spaces for uses such as set-down and collection. Apply at least 5 working days ahead; the council charges per space per day, at a rate that depends on the parking zone.

Trucks with fewer than 5 axles don't need the cordon permit, which is one reason we match the vehicle to your street. We confirm the current rules for your address before the day.

Book your free home survey

The survey is 100% free, with no obligation. A coordinator visits your home, notes what goes by sea, what goes by air and what stays, and asks about access at your Dublin address. A fixed, itemised quote follows.

Choosing between the best removal companies in Dublin? For a move from the UAE, ask who does the packing here, who prepares the customs claim and sends it on time, and whether the lorry permit and parking suspension are in the quote.

Questions about moving to Dublin from Dubai

Anything specific to your situation? A specialist for this corridor is happy to help.

Contact us
Do I need packers and movers in Dublin as well?

No. We pack in the UAE, and our destination partner delivers, reassembles and unpacks in Dublin, with one coordinator covering both ends.

When does the C&E 1076 claim go to Revenue?

Two weeks before the goods arrive. It is emailed, with your supporting documents, to Revenue's transfer-of-residence mailbox for Dublin Port. We prepare it with you from the inventory and send it for you.

Can the removal truck get into central Dublin?

Yes, with planning. Trucks with 5 or more axles need a permit for the city cordon in the daytime, and at all hours around Sandymount, so we either buy the load/unload permit or send a smaller vehicle.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Dublin take in 2026?

Longer than before. Since the Strait of Hormuz was effectively closed on 28 February 2026, containers have gone by road to a port outside the strait, such as Khor Fakkan or Fujairah on the UAE's east coast or Sohar in Oman, then by sea to a European hub, for example Rotterdam, and on to Dublin by feeder. We confirm the routing and an estimated delivery window at your survey.

Can we store our furniture in Dubai until our Dublin home is ready?

Yes, short or long term. Plan the shipping date around the customs window: the goods can arrive from 6 months before to 12 months after your move, and if they arrive first you must agree to live in Ireland within 6 months.

What does a move from Dubai to Dublin cost?

It depends on the volume, whether you fill a container or share one, how much goes by air, the packing and crating needed, access at your Dublin address and any storage. The free in-home survey measures all of this, and you receive a fixed, itemised quote with no obligation.
